About the 'Agency' and 'Agency-in-Practice' projects

We have completed one UKRI-funded Engagement award (the Agency project).

We examined recordings of clinical encounters between professionals, and young people seeking help from them.

Together, we identified some key priorities for professionals, in order to better support young people's agency during these kinds of interactions.

Our team involves: young people & lived experience researchers, psychologists, psychiatrists, philosophers and linguists.

We are currently working on a follow-up, UKRI-funded Methodology project (the Agency-in-Practice project).

We are returning to the topic of young people's experiences of help-seeking in mental health.

We are developing a methodology for involving young people as co-analysts of qualitative data in mental health research.
